Angie Poss
President & Co-Owner
Angie is a communications & public relations professional whose work is grounded in storytelling that uplifts the voices & values of New Mexicans to advance policy change. She knows that in order for our people to have more opportunity to thrive, their lived experiences have to be heard by those wielding the power.
Angie led the communications team that helped to elect one of the first Native American women to Congress, now-Secretary of the Interior, Deb Haaland. From March to November 2022, she oversaw the Communications efforts that helped to seal a 70 percent electoral victory for Constitutional Amendment #1.
Angie is a self-taught graphic designer, an adept organizational spokesperson, & skilled writer who has had work published in news outlets across New Mexico, including Santa Fe-based Outside Magazine, & nationally in the New York Times, Washington Post, the Hill, & others. She’s a proud Lobo with degrees in political science & public communication.
Brittany Poss
Vice President of Data & Research, Co-Owner
Brittany Poss is the Vice President of Data & Research at Single Space Strategies, where she leads a team of researchers focused on translating complex information into actionable insights for mission-driven organizations. Her work spans mixed-methods research, including quantitative analysis, qualitative synthesis, and geospatial mapping, with a focus on equity-centered policy and program design.
Brittany has led projects across sectors including workforce development, higher education, and environmental justice. She brings a collaborative approach to data and strategy, supporting partners in using evidence to inform decisions and advance systems change.
Prior to founding Single Space, Brittany served as Director of Data & Analytics at Research & Polling, Inc., and as the first Deputy Director of the City of Albuquerque’s Office of Equity & Inclusion. She also managed a $3.3 million National Science Foundation grant at the University of New Mexico focused on advancing equity in STEM fields. She holds a master’s degree in public policy with distinction from the University of New Mexico.
Janelle Johnson
Vice President of Strategy & Implementation, Co-Owner
Janelle is the Vice President of Strategy & Implementation at Single Space Strategies, where she helps public, private, and community-driven organizations move from big ideas to measurable outcomes. Known for her ability to navigate complexity with clarity, Janelle brings a people-centered approach to turning vision into action—prioritizing collaboration, alignment, and meaningful change over traditional business models.
Janelle spent years in leadership roles refining her operational expertise in government and the tech sector, where she became a business development leader and strategic advisor to executive teams. Across every role, her focus has remained consistent: designing practical systems that drive impact, scale, and equity.
This includes serving as Senior Analyst for New Mexico’s first-ever Government Accountability Office, and later as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer for the City of Albuquerque. There, she led cross-departmental implementation of mayoral priorities across more than 22 city departments and managed a major administrative transition involving 6,000+ employees—all within two weeks of a municipal election. She holds a master’s degree in political science from the University of New Mexico.
Liliana Castillo
Director of Communications
Liliana Castillo is a multi-faceted communications professional whose career has centered on amplifying unheard voices and stories, leaning into intersectional issues that impact New Mexicans, and bringing people together to build power for change. Liliana has seen the power of centering people, sharing stories, and creating partnerships in her 17 years of leadership in journalism and advocacy communications.
Liliana created the Open New Doors campaign, a communications project that brought together an allied group of climate, equity and justice, conservation, and environmental organizations centered on the urgent need for a managed, just, and equitable transition away from New Mexico’s current over-dependence on oil and gas revenues to address the climate emergency. The campaign’s message, designs, stories, and videos have been adopted and shared widely in conversations about environmental protection and social justice.
Liliana has experience in writing, storytelling, and messaging for various spokespeople and audiences. She is adept at translating complex data and information into values-based messaging for broad and targeted audiences. Liliana has engaged in team and workflow management in multiple roles and has been trained in racial equity and justice principles and applications. Liliana earned her Bachelor of Arts in photojournalism at the University of North Texas with a minor in social sciences.
John K. Wagner
Data and Research Director
John is a data and analytics specialist and researcher whose work focuses on understanding the complexities of human behavior, politics, and communication to inform actionable, data-driven strategies. He believes that the most impactful decisions arise from blending rigorous analysis with the lived experiences of those affected by those decisions.
John is an accomplished writer and analyst with numerous peer-reviewed publications and technical reports. His work has supported stakeholders across public and private institutions, translating complex data into insights that drive change.
A proud Lobo holding a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico, John thrives on collaboration and is always eager to refine his skills and learn something new.
Sydney Tellez
Director of Legal & Government Affairs
Sydney Tellez is the Director of Legal & Government Affairs at Single Space Strategies, where she provides legal, policy, and political expertise to support the organization and its mission-driven clients. Her work is grounded in community-centered advocacy, with a focus on dismantling structural inequities that have historically marginalized New Mexico communities.
Sydney brings over a decade of experience in political strategy, community organizing, and legislative advocacy. She has worked across sectors, including as a legal fellow in U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich’s office, and in roles spanning fundraising, lobbying, and grassroots mobilization in New Mexico. Sydney was instrumental in the passage of expanding judicial public financing to all district court candidates in New Mexico, making New Mexico the first in the nation to offer public financing to local judges. Most recently, she served as an Assistant District Attorney for the 2nd Judicial District, where she worked on restorative justice initiatives and supported survivors of domestic violence. She made her return to the policy realm in 2025 to support the passage of innovative renewable energy initiatives and a comprehensive paid family and medical leave program for New Mexicans.
A native of New Mexico and proud Lobo, Sydney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies and Political Science from the University of New Mexico, and a Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
Destiny Logan
Director of Communications Accounts
Destiny serves as the Director of Communications Accounts, working with a diversity of voices to create meaningful community engagement and implement impactful communications strategies.
A lifelong New Mexican, she values the passion and grit of the community she calls home. After nearly a decade of working directly within the heart of Albuquerque, with specific emphasis on the nonprofit and small business sectors, she is guided by a desire to always show her local love. Connection is her superpower, she will happily share everything from the best restaurant recommendations to insights on important happenings around town.
Her professional background includes a wealth of experience managing international professional exchange programs through the U.S. Department of State as well as media and events through Yelp. Her experience has developed her into a true local expert but there is always more to learn and see in this amazing world.
Destiny holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration through the University of New Mexico, making her a true double lobo.
Jessica Knox
Policy Research Manager
Jessica is a Policy Research Manager at Single Space Strategies, who uses analytical research to inform strategic initiatives that promote equity and community well-being. She believes that meaningful change stems from intentional research and thoughtful planning.
Prior to joining Single Space, Jessica conducted data driven research for the City of Albuquerque's 2024 Progress Report, using key indicators to measure community progress and inform policymaking. She has also supported public service efforts through internships with the U.S. House of Representatives, the New Mexico State Legislature, and Save the Children Action Network, focusing on legislative research, constituent services, and community outreach.
Jessica holds her Bachelor’s in History and Political Science and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Political Science at the University of New Mexico.
Iram Camacho
Policy Research Manager
Iram is a multifaceted data and research manager who gains fulfillment from helping social organizations and coalitions around New Mexico reap the benefits of their work. He believes that using a human-centered approach in his work at SSS will have ripple effects through the state of New Mexico and will lead to significant and necessary policy change.
Iram began working at SSS immediately out of his Bachelor’s degree program in May 2024. Since then, he has engaged in election data analysis, research and drafting various landscape analyses, and climate advocacy. His eagerness to learn and develop professional skills has led him to take on project management opportunities both internally and externally. As a self taught graphic designer, Iram has designed graphics, presentations, and reports that have been used within and outside the company with a variety of clients.
Iram earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in International Studies from the University of New Mexico. He will begin a Master’s Degree program in Environment and Resource Management at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Netherlands in September 2025.
Kamau Purce
Data Manager
Kamau is a Data Manager who believes that high quality analytics and strategies begin their life as well sourced and organized data. Kamau has been passionate about technology from a young age and uses this passion to always be on the lookout for new methods and programs to expediate the acquisition and archival of information and data to best serve those who need it.
Kamau has previously worked as a hardware manager and configuration specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs, a project that ultimately improved the quality of life of veterans seeking healthcare by streamlining the way veteran’s check-in at hospitals as well as how hospital clerks handle patient data. While later employed as a master motorcycle technician, he wrote several highly technical internal documents and procedures for use by other technicians to provide more high-quality repairs for recall work.
Kamau is a lifelong learner, eager to take complex issues and distill them into their most base parts. He is a self-taught programmer and is currently enrolled at the University of New Mexico, aiming for his bachelor’s degree in computer engineering.
Kelli Trapnell
Communications Writer
Kelli Trapnell is a content marketing and branding expert who works with companies and organizations of all sizes to share their stories (and their values) with the world.
Kelli believes that razor-sharp storytelling can compel audiences to action, win over even the hardest sells, and cement an organization's legacy in their industry.
Kelli has managed projects at The New Yorker, written for Business Insider, and launched effective branding campaigns for dozens of companies.
Kelli is a New York Foundation of the Arts award-winning writer and holds an MFA in writing from Columbia University.
