Position Title: Communications Manager

Position Details: Full Time (up to 40 hours a week), Hybrid remote/virtual work, with an office in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Salary & Benefits: $60,000 - $75,000 (flexible based on experience), 100% employer paid health/dental/vision insurance, sick leave, and eligibility for employer-matched 401k (4% match) and unlimited paid time off after a successful three-month trial period. 

Single Space Strategies is a queer and women-owned full-service data and communications firm based in Albuquerque, New Mexico, searching for our newest communications team member. We’re looking for someone who is organized, collaborative, and creative and enjoys translating strategy into compelling digital content and managing the details that make campaigns successful. 

The Communications Manager supports the execution of digital and social media communications for Single Space Strategies and its clients, and serves as a primary graphic design contributor across the firm. This role includes frequent hands-on design of social media assets, client-facing reports, and handouts, with an emphasis on producing visually clear, brand-aligned materials guided by client branding.  The Manager works closely with the Senior Director of Communications and other communications team members to implement digital strategies, manage content calendars, produce and publish content, and track performance across platforms.

This position is ideal for someone who is excited to work hands-on with social and digital communications and who brings strong graphic design skills to a wide range of client and internal deliverables, while growing their skills within a collaborative team environment. The Manager will be predominantly supervised by the Senior Director of Communications and will regularly collaborate across departments to design visual assets for social media, digital campaigns, and broader company deliverables. All Single Space Strategies staff are expected to work collaboratively while independently managing their own tasks and deadlines.

Objectives & Responsibilities

Graphic Design & Visual Production: 

  • Manage and execute high-volume design work across multiple concurrent projects

  • Design and produce client-facing reports, handouts, static and video social media content, including layout, formatting, and visual presentation of data and written content

  • Apply and adapt client branding guidelines to ensure materials are polished, accessible, and presentation-ready

  • Collaborate with team members companywide to translate complex information into clear, visually compelling materials for a variety of purposes, audiences, and platforms

  • Prepare final design files for digital and print use as needed  

Digital & Social Media Execution: 

  • Manage and create day-to-day social media and digital communications for assigned clients and Single Space Strategies’ owned channels

  • Draft, edit, schedule, and publish content across platforms including Meta, TikTok, LinkedIn, websites, and email as needed

  • Maintain social media and digital content calendars, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met

Content Development & Coordination: 

  • Act as a hands-on content creator, regularly designing and producing social media graphics and digital content that reflect client goals, brand standards, and audience needs.

  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Communications and project leads to translate strategy into engaging digital content from static graphics to videos

  • Coordinate with designers, subcontractors, and team members to support content production

  • Ensure consistency in voice, messaging, and visual identity across platforms

  • Track and report on digital performance metrics such as reach, engagement, and growth

  • Support analysis of campaign performance and assist with recommendations for improvements

Project & Team Support: 

  • Support client communications projects by managing assigned deliverables and timelines

  • Participate in internal and client-facing meetings as needed

  • Research digital trends, platform updates, and best practices

  • Provide digital and social communications support across projects and teams as needed to ensure capacity and long-term company success

Position Standards: 

  • Adhere to the company’s policies and standards, and ensure that laws and regulations are being followed 

  • Build and maintain respectful and professional relationships with clients and partners 

  • Serve as a representative of the organization, researcher, project manager, proposal content creator, report writer, and budget developer where needed 

  • Openness to cross vertical project assistance and writing assignments where needed to ensure capacity is met and long term company success is prioritized 

Preferred Experience: 

  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. Demonstrated experience with graphic design for social media, reports, and client-facing materials.

  • 2–4 years of experience managing social media or digital communications for organizations or clients

  • Proficiency in Canva required. Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premier Pro preferred. Experience successfully using social media scheduling tools, running basic analytics, and collaborative workflows

  • Preference for bilingual applicants who live and work in New Mexico
